Theodore Roosevelt Chautauqua Presentation
Chautauqua Program, sponsored by the Friends of the City Museum. “Theodore Roosevelt—Rough Rider-President”, presented by Randy Milligan, an instructor at New Mexico State University in Carlsbad. Plaza Hotel Ballroom, Sunday, August 7, 6 pm. Tickets $5 Adult/$3 Children/Children under 15 FREE.
Celebrations of Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy abound: the national resources that he saved; his Rough Rider charge up San Juan Hill; his presidency which led the U.S. into world leadership; his promotion of reading and education. “TR” definitely belongs on Mount Rushmore as the man of the West next to Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln.
Randy Milligan is an instructor at New Mexico State University in Carlsbad and president of the Carlsbad Arts and Humanities Alliance.
